EASTER AND SHAWN'S 24th BIRTHDAY!

Easter came and went, but along the way we had a wonderful Easter dinner at sister Andrea's house. Everyone brought something, and we ate ourselves full! Easter wouldn't be Easter without ham (and turkey this year), as well as many side dishes, and to top it off, Mom's shaum torte (meringues) with sweet strawberries and whipped cream. This picture shows Mom, Andrea, Cheryl, Melissa, and Laurie wearing our aprons that Sue made us. Cheryl, Andrea and I had the same material, pictures of Dick and Jane from our old reading books back when we were kids. Aisling was wearing her Easter best and went on an indoor egg hunt, so cute. Chris called us from Ohio and told us about the 8" of snow that hit his early last Friday. He went to his boss' house for Easter dinner, then went home to make his call to us. Chris will be flying for four days in July for the July 12 birthday party - we all miss him so much! Melissa and Jenny, both pregnant, are playing the waiting game. Melissa is ready at any time, and just wants to have the baby on the outside of her body, Baby Shawn is kicking up a storm. The next family get-together is Aisling's 2nd birthday. We told Brian and Jenny that we'll have to "wing it" because we don't know where we'll be with the baby coming at that time, but we did tell Brian that we'll send Jack as a family representative. TODAY was also Shawn's 24th birthday - how did that happen! I had Shawn when I was 28 years old, and now Melissa is having Shawn's son at the same age of 28, funny how things work out that way. He cannot wait to be a dad and is looking forward to every minute of it!
