14 MONTHS OLD - AT THE PARK
Last Saturday was perfect weather for the park. So father and son headed there for a playdate. They went on the swings, they went down the slide, and then ended up here on the spring-loaded rocket ship. Now that Shawn is walking, he's getting around more. He walked on sand for the first time here at the park and found it to be an interesting surface on which to balance himself. He played with it in his hands and laughed as the sand fell out through his fingers, the little things in life you know. WHAT'S HE UP TO THESE DAYS? We can understand him more now. He says "book" (but the "k" is a "p"), "ball", shoe is "ish". You say, "arms up" and his arms go up, you say "arms down" and his arms go down. When you start to sing "itsy bitsy spider", his fingers move and his wrists turn back and forth. AT DAYCARE - he's been promoted to Room #3! What does that mean? Well, instead of being in a room with cribs, dressers and a small playroom, he's now in a big playroom with little tables and little chairs. He used to only sleep about an hour a day in the other room, now he sleeps on his own
cot at a designated time with the rest of the kids and the room is darkened - so now he's sleeping three hours at a time. PLAY TIME: He loves to play with Grandpa by building block pyramids and as soon as Shawn sees what Grandpa has built, he walks over to it and knocks it down. He loves books and loves to be read to - so grateful for that since Chris and Shawn didn't like to read too much. WHAT'S HE EATING? His food list is growing - he loves yogurt, any kind of cheese, peanut butter, Hawaiian sweet rolls, and has discovered Chicken McNuggets. Now that they're made with white meat chicken, they're so much better and taste so good! WHAT'S COMING UP? We're looking forward to the big birthday bash on July 5th at Aunt Sue's. Chris and Jackie will be flying out for four days and we're all anxious to see them again - we miss them so much!
