Well, on July 5th our family all got together to celebrate seven birthdays! Here's the whole gang except for sister Sue taking the picture: (left to right in back row) Allen, Xander, Chris, Jenny, Jack, Terry, Brian, Aisling, Shawn, Alex, Cheryl, Mom, Barry, Andrea (front row): Jackie, Melissa, Shawn and Laurie. We got smart this year and ordered Mexican food as our main entrees and then we all brought something to share. Chris and Jackie flew out from Iowa for
this event, and everyone was happy to see them join us. They both flew in on Thursday night and went back to Iowa on Monday. We tried to make the most of every minute they were here, and I think we accomplished that. I hosted a dominoes tournament on Friday night, that was so much fun. Everyone brought something to share - Andrea's lettuce wraps were a hit, as well as friend Mark's homemade salsa. He even brought home grown champagne grapes to share which was unexpected because none of us thought you could even grow your own grapes as successfully as that. The big winners were Andrea, Chris and Jack. On Saturday, nephew Allen came over and it was an afternoon of playing games, Rummikub and Kings Crowns. Chris and Jackie then went over to Allen's for the night for more games on his 52" screen - yes, even his computer is hooked up to that behemoth! Then we all met up at Aunt Sue's for the big birthday party - it was a lot of fun, and thanks again to Sue for hostessing such a big event!
