FILLING DADDY'S SHOES

He's almost 1-1/2 years old and already trying to fill Dad's shoes. He thought it would be fun to try them on and see if he could even walk in them, and he couldn't. This is one boy who is curious enough to try things like this, and when it doesn't work, he'll just walk away. He can be frustrated if things don't go his way, but before long he forgets all about it and moves onto the next thing. When I'm getting ready in the morning, he'll want to comb his hair too, and when I put on my watch and earrings, he'll look in my Sleeping Beauty jewelry box (yes Brian, I still have it) and pick up an earring and put it to his ear and then put it back - he's quite the mimicker. His dad told him that his dinner was HOT and he meant that it was spicy, but Shawn thought he meant temperature hot, so now he'll point at our dinner plates and say HOT and he won't touch them. He enjoys watching "The Jungle Book", the same VHS tape that his father used to watch, and his dad used to sing "Bare Necessities" from that movie, and now his son is enjoying the same things. He knows what elephants are and says the word, so he enjoys watching the elephants marching in the movie. He knows tigers and growls when he sees them on the screen, and when he's all done with dinner, he's done with the movie too. Then he's off to his bath and pajamas and building blocks with Papa (Grandpa) or riding his new Handy Manny car that Daddy bought for him - it charges during the day and makes for great fun at night!
