THANKSGIVING 2009

Gobble! Gobble! The turkey was great this year, my Mom had been brining the turkey the last few years but heard of dry brining it this year, and it's truly the best turkey I've ever had! We had Thanksgiving at sister Andrea's house, and the meal was wonderful. Brian, Jenny, Aisling and Xander spent Thanksgiving dinner with Jenny's family, but Sue had a second Thanksgiving (with ham this time) on Saturday night, so all were finally together again except for Sister Cheryl (she had charity commitments up in Lake Arrowhead, and brother-in-law Barry was in England spending Thanksgiving with his mother. Sue and Terry decided to give Xander and Shawn their Christmas gifts early which were the same, Winnie-the-Pooh planes, and boy did they love them! Big Shawn thought it would be fun for Little Shawn to actually "fly" in his plane, so as soon as Little Shawn sat on it, Big Shawn picked up Little Shawn and the plane together and flew them around the room, which of course he loved (see video). Aisling and Xander thought that was the greatest thing, so then Brian was committed to picking up Aisling in the plane and fly her around the room. In the video you can hear Shawn and Aisling squealing with excitement over their first solo flights in their Pooh planes. We all had wine, spirits and great food for both of our Thanksgivings, and we all have a lot to be thankful for. So it's Sunday now and the Christmas tree is going up as we speak. This will be Shawn's second Christmas, but since he was only 8 months old last Christmas, this will be his first one where he'll be more aware of what's really going on. He hasn't met Santa yet, but since Jack looks a bit like him with his gray beard, Shawn should be fine when he actually sits on his lap. On to Christmas...................!
