THE NEW ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY - BARKLEY! Just eight weeks old, his mother is a Westie and his father is Pomeranian. That's quite a mix, but this little one looks just like his mom with a touch of beige from his dad. I had Maxx, a Westie, for 15 years, and it'll be two years in April since we've been without him. It's taken that long for me to decide on making another emotional investment. Thanks to my friend Bev for forwarding the email from another friend, Shannon, whose dogs had a litter of eight puppies. Shannon brought over three of the puppies and from those three, we decided on Barkley. Can there be a perfect dog? Yes there can, and we've got him! He's already paper trained (thanks Shannon!), 
and sleeps all night in a blanket-covered basket by our bed. I love this picture of Shawn, holding Barkley for the first time. At first he thought it was a great idea, but then you can see that he changed his mind. He'd never held a puppy before, so this was somewhat expected, but I love his expression! Barkley, welcome to our family!
