CHRIS SAYS GOOD-BYE TO FAMILY.....

Today the family gathered to send Chris off on his new adventure in Ohio. We were so fortunate to have Nana, Aunt Andrea, Uncle Alex, Aunt Sue, Uncle Terry, Cousins Brian and Allen, Jenny and Aisling, and of course, Jack and I were there to send Chris off the right way, with family around him. We had a great dinner, and then Chris opened cards from the family. Aunt Andrea and Uncle Alex wished Chris "....make smart decisions, know that only you are the 'master of your ship', sail it wisely into safe harbors." Nana wrote, "Please keep on writing my wonderful greeting cards, they're fabulous. You have 'a gift' for writing what you feel. " Jack and I wished him godspeed in his travels, that we didn't want to say the word 'goodbye', but to wish him luck in his new job and that we'd miss him very much. We bought him a Kansas City Chiefs backpack and some chains for his car, which he will definitely need in Ohio.
Jack and I got in the car after all the emotional goodbyes were said, and it hit us for the first time, very hard. We found ourselves fighting back tears all the way home. We know it is a great opportunity for Chris, and it's a new chapter in his life. Chris is moving to Mayfield Heights, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland. He leaves this Thursday, January 31st, and will meet up with his boss in Phoenix on Thursday night. From there they will visit various restaurants under construction. They should be in Ohio by February 5th.
