Melissa and Baby Shawn came home yesterday. We took this picture leaving the hospital with our favorite nurse, Karen. We were hoping to get them home before noon, but there were only two nurses running the show, so everything seemed to go in slow motion. We didn't leave until 4pm - Jack took a few trips down to the car with all the flowers and gifts, and then in the car we went with Baby Shawn in his new car seat. He slept throughout the entire trip from hospital room to his own bed at home. Since we just moved into the house, the nursery is still under construction due to paneling coming down, walls need to be painted, and a Classic Pooh wallpaper border is going up, so while we're waiting for the crib to be delivered, Baby Shawn is in a port-a-crib in
Mom's room, which is just fine for now. Big Shawn finally got to see pictures of his little one and you could see the pride in his eyes as he looked at each picture. He'll get to meet his son for the first time next Saturday, he's counting the days. Baby Shawn's first night was uneventful actually. He's eating every four hours, and eating very well. He stays up for a little bit, looks around a lot, and goes back to sleep. It was fun to start putting him in regular clothes - he seems to like bare feet since he kicks off his socks all the time, and we wonder how he's going to wear all of his little outfits before he grows out of them - he's already grown out of newborn diapers!
