Today was Circumcision Day, and they said he hardly made a peep. He came back to the room and all was well until he had his first pee, and well, you can imagine how THAT felt. Vaseline soon fixed the problem and in 24 hours, it will be as if nothing happened "down there". The nurses are very pro-circumcision and have seen too many cases of things going wrong when it wasn't done, so they were happy to wheel him away knowing it was the right thing to do. Baby Shawn started off on Good Start formula, but we soon figured out he didn't like it, so we switched to Infamil and he's drinking away like a trooper. He hardly ever cries, only when he's hungry, heck, even I do that! Ha! Melissa will have her staples taken out tomorrow, and hopefully mom and baby will be home on Sunday afternoon. St. Jude has been taking great care of mom and baby, most of the nurses are kind and caring, but there's a few here and there that should either find another job or just retire! The babies are kept in the room with the moms now (not like that when I had Chris and Shawn at St. Jude in the 80's), and Baby Shawn even has a "GPS locator" on his ankle. If we take him in his wheely bed out in the hallway and we cross the red line, an alarm goes off - boy, they don't mess around when it comes to keeping the babies secure and with their mothers at all times. Baby Shawn's nursery is still awaiting the crib (we had to order it and it will be here in 7-14 days), but the nursery is Classic Pooh, so cute. More later once mom and baby are home!
