IT'S OFFICIAL - SHAWN IS WALKING!

This past weekend, I guess Shawn decided that he'd had enough of crawling, so he spent most of Saturday on his feet. Then on Sunday, Dad took him to a barbeque at a friend's house, and he was walking all over the place. Last week, if you held his hand and wanted him to walk with you, he'd collapse to the ground like a house of cards. At the barbeque, Shawn was walking him around like that most of the day. Something clicked in that little head of his, and while it's a landmark event for him, it's a little sad for me. That part of his always having to be carried around to get anywhere is over, now that he's walking, we'll never find him again! 12-MONTH CHECK-UP: Shawn also had his 12-month checkup, and other than having a double earache (but who knew, he's so happy!) and needs a stronger medicine to take twice a day for 10 days, he's growing like a weed.

The doctor said that now he'll be saying a couple words and he'll start pointing at things. He's a chatterbox, but no words other than "dada" sound familiar.

WHAT'S HE EATING? No more baby food, all table food, and feeding himself, he'll eat anything.
