SHAWN - A PIRATE IN TRAINING!
Yesterday Baby Shawn experienced some firsts. We went to his cousin, Aising's, 3rd birthday party at a great little park in Burbank. The weather was great, not too hot, not too cold, just right. Aisling was dressed as Tinkerbell, and her little guests were pixies and pirates. Shawn put on his pirate hat, along with this "Pirate in Training" black vest (thanks Aunt Sue for making those!), and he was ready to have some fun, which he did! He enjoyed the star-shaped PB&J sandwiches and shared some of his counsin Xander's cheerios. He's using sippie cups now, so he had milk (no more formula!) which he loves. We were fortunate not to have any worries with his being allergic to milk, I've heard stories of children having to drink soy milk or goat's milk. So far Shawn has shown no allergies to anything. Aisling's mom made the most amazing Tinkerbell cake surrounded by cupcakes covered with either chocolate butterflies or sunflowers made with Orego cookies for
the middle and yellow frosting for the leaves, SO CUTE! Shawn also experienced his first time on a baby swing at the park, and he loved it! Shawn was so good the whole day, sitting with Aunt Angie and Nana and Grandpa Jack. Nana and Grandpa even walked Shawn (on his own two feet) from the swing back to the picnic area, it won't be long before he's walking on his own - he's up to 7 steps at one time. Shawn will be one year on this coming Friday, April 10, he may surprise us all at walk to his own party!
